About the Teacher

My name is Nancy Folco and this is my 17th year teaching at Academy of Our Lady.  I taught first grade for eleven years and this will be my sixth year teaching second grade.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Felician College in May '04 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (K-8) and Psychology.  I have a certification for Kindergarten through 8th grade with a special PreK through 3rd grade certification.  I have been trained in Orton-Gillingham as well as the Superkids Reading Program.  I have attended various workshops for my professional development which include training in the Common Core for Math, Language Arts, and Science, SmartBoard and iPad use in the classroom, and many others pertaining to a Catholic School classroom.  Over the past few months, I have attended several webinars for virtual learning.  I am also the safety coordinator for Academy of Our Lady.  I run our school's annual St. Jude's fundraiser where we have have raised over $150,000 for the kids and families of St. Jude's.

My goal is for all my students to have a desire and a love for learning.

I want them to grow in their faith and their relationship with Jesus.

I want my students to enjoy coming to school and to have fun while here.

Second grade is an important year.
I hope my students have a positive experience.
