Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  This year I will be the 7th grade homeroom teacher.

Here is some helpful information for the upcoming school year:

Cell Phones: Cell phones are to be turned completely off and will be collected at the beginning of the day. The cell phones will be kept securely locked in the closet and will be returned at the end of the day to the students before they leave for the day.  Students who are caught with their cell phones will turn them into their teacher and returned to them on the first offense.  On the second offense a parent will have to pick it up, and on the third offense there after, they will be turned into the office.

Personal Laptops/Devices: 7th and 8th graders must sign the "Bring Your Own Device" agreement form before bringing devices to class. Devices should only be used when instructed to do so for assignments and/or notes at the teacher's discretion.

Snacks: Snacks are permitted during recess time. Snacks are not to be eaten during class without permission.

Lunch: Students should bring in their own lunch everyday. Lunch will be eaten in the cafeteria.

Uniform: Each student should come to school in school uniforms as dictated by the Student Handbook, unless a student has a N.U.T. card or special privilege. Students will receive warning notices when out of uniform.  No make up or nail polish is allowed.

Homework: Students are required to do their homework and turn it in on time. On the second time not turning in homework, students' grade will go from an O to an S in personal development. On the third time, parents will be notified. Anytime after that, students will receive an I on their report cards.  This will revert back for each trimester.  For assignments that are graded, points will also be deducted as follows: five points the first day, ten points the second day, fifteen points the third day.  After that, students will receive a 50.  If the student doesn't turn it in, they will receive a 0.  Of course, if life gets in the way, please have your parents contact me so we can work out an extension if needed. All assignments are written on Google Classroom daily!

Category Weights for tests, quizzes, etc.: For the first and second trimester tests are 40% of your grade, quizzes are 10% of your grade, projects are 30% of your grade, and homework is 20% of your grade. This changes in the third trimester if we are required to give final exams.

God bless you all.  I can’t wait to meet you and get started!
