good morning today is Thursday September 15th 2022 on this day we pray with Our Lady of Sorrows to remember Mary's heartaches at moments of Jesus' life including his suffering and death in Jesus'  time Samaritans and Jews were considered enemies because of years of war between them however in the conclusion of the Good Samaritan Parable Jesus cast the Samaritan man as the one who stopped to care for the injured Jewish man Jesus teaches us that even our enemy are included when Jesus called us to love our neighbor a reading from the holy Gospel According to Luke a  Samaritan while traveling came near the half dead man and when he saw him he was moved with pity the Samaritan went to him and bandaged his wounds having poured oil and wine on them then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn and took care of him the next day he took out two denarii gave them to The Innkeeper and said take care of him and when I come back I will repay you whatever more you spend which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers the lawyer said the one who showed him Mercy Jesus said to go and do likewise the gospel of the Lord praise to you Lord Jesus Christ So Jesus sends us a pretty powerful message here because In Jesus' time the Samaritans and the Jews were not only not friendly but we're actually enemies so what is Jesus really trying to stay here do you think who is your neighbor and what does it mean to be a good neighbor think about that and maybe talk about it in your religion classes today today I would like to wish a very happy birthday to Jacob in grade 8 please remember to say your morning prayers, Pledge of Allegiance and school pledge with your class before you start your day have a wonderful day we'll see you in the hallways and hopefully your parents at back to school night have a great day
