Good morning boys and girls Today is Monday November 29th 2021 I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving I hope you had a wonderful long weekend Had some time with family, time to relax Today we begin Advent actually the first day of Advent was yesterday and during Advent it is a time for us to prepare for the birth of Jesus It's a time of waiting a time of preparing a time of really thinking about Jesus and why He came into the world for us We begin Advent with a week of scriptures called the Messianic Prophecies from the Old Testament The prophets foretell where Jesus will be born and who His mother will be Today's reading is from The Book of Micah The Messiah had not yet come to the Israelites and the prophecies brought them hope of what was to come Jesus fulfilled these prophecies Micah tells us that the Messiah will come from Bethlehem and bring us peace So let us listen to the reading today Hear you peoples all of you Now you're walled around with a wall Siege is laid against us with a rod they strike the ruler of Israel but you oh Bethlehem who are the one of the little clans of Judah from you shall come forth from Me One who is to rule in Israel who's origin is from of old from ancient days and He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of the Lord in the Majesty of the Name of the Lord His God and they shall live secure for now He shall be great to the ends of the earth and He shall be the One of Peace The Word of the Lord Thanks be to God Boys and girls over these next weeks we will be preparing for the birth of Jesus but how do you personally prepare for Jesus's birth?  Think about that Talk about that in your class today How do you prepare for Jesus's birth Let us pray In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit Amen Lord God Comfort your people when we are worried or afraid bring us calm minds and open heart as we await Your peace through Christ Our Lord Amen In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit Amen All right boys and girls I do have an Advent question for you today How long does Advent last?
