Good morning Today is Monday October 18th 2021 I hope you all had a great weekend Today is the Feast of St Luke the Evangelist Now, an evangelist is someone who works to convert people to Christianity and they do so by by publicly speaking and preaching and so  that is what Saint Luke is known for He believed to have written the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles He was the only Gentile, which is non-Jewish, person among the Gospel writers All right this week Scripture focuses on prayer In today's reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew Jesus teaches His Disciples how to pray He teaches them the Our Father and as you know boys and girls there are many ways in which we can pray We can pray the prayers that we know but we can also pray by singing We can pray by just talking to God in our own way telling God exactly how we feel Alright so let's listen to today's Gospel A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew When you are praying do not keep up empty phrases as the Gentiles do For they think that they will be heard because of their many words Do not be like them for Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him Pray then in this way Our Father in heaven Hallowed be thy Name Your Kingdom come Your Will be done on Earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we have also forgotten our debtors and do not bring us to the time of trial but rescue us from the evil one For if You forgive others their trespasses Your heavenly Father will also forgive you The Gospel of the Lord Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ Boys and girls, "Your Will be done as it is in heaven" Think about those words You say them everyday but what do those words really mean to you? That's what I want you to think about today Let's pray In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit Amen Thank you Heavenly Father for Your Son Jesus who reminds us to pray and talk to You throughout our day so that we might become closer to You and know Your Will in all things Through Christ Our Lord Amen In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit Amen Today we celebrate the birthday of John in 2 F so John happy birthday and yesterday's trivia answer The question was who built the pyramids?
