Typical Day
Our day begins at 8:15. Drop off is at the primary wing doors on our side of the school building starting at 8:00. A drop off plan will be emailed to you and it will also be available on the school's website. Please do your best to be on time! Helpers will be available at drop off and pick up to assist your child to and from your car. After 8:15, you will have to drop off at the doors at the front of school.
Once they are in our room, the children will get themselves organized while unpacking their things. They will then go to their table to work on the activity that is there. Once all of the children are ready and settled, we will clean up and assemble for "circle time".
The children will gather on the carpet.
We discuss the date, weather, and share any "news".
We will then have our pledge and circle prayer.
Our weekly themes will be reviewed, and the new lessons for the day will be introduced.
We will then begin work on our first activity.
As the children finish, they will clean up and put away their supplies. They may then have free play in the center of their choosing. They are free to move from place to place, as they chose.
Our "Specials" this year are from 9:30-10.
Tuesdays: MUSIC
Wednesdays: GYM
Thursdays: SPANISH
When we get back from our "Special", we will all take a trip to the bathroom 10-10:15, and then have snack time. After a prayer of thanks, I will read a book to the children while they are eating.
After snack, we will continue with small group lessons until about 11:15, when we clean up and get ready to go to the playground until 12:00.
Pick up is at 12:00 for half-day children. Full day children will stay outside until 12:20.
From 12:30-1 we have lunch in our room and all will go to the bathroom.
1-2 is our rest time- lights will be out and quiet music will be playing.
Once we have cleaned up from rest-time, the children are free to play with various enrichment activities which include various games, puzzles, play dough. They are free to choose from our "afternoon closet".
About 2:20 we will clean up, pack our backpacks, and get ready for dismissal which begins at 2:30.
