morning boys and girls I hope you are all well today is June 16th which means that our journey through this school year has come to an end no one could have predicted what we would have been through this year it's been quite interesting poison Elsa and thinking about this past year I have to take you back to August last August that was when I first realized and found out that I was going to have the privilege of being your new principal in preparing for the school I was told from so many people teachers parents and students that they were wonderful activities and traditions that were apart of the academy and I couldn't wait to share it with you that first day in August which was the ice cream social when I met so many of you I knew I was part of a wonderful family so I'm thinking back to the fall we just so many things we had first Friday masses morning prayers was one of the most wonderful surprises for me because I had never had put opportunity to do anything like that meeting with students in the morning praying together it was something that I looked forward to every day as we got into the fog I can remember the door decorating contest and the Halloween Carnival and a Halloween parade which was amazing I've never seen a band play the Halloween parade there was Trunk or Treat which was so much fun and then we went into mortal the fall there was traps do you remember the wonderful vet Wednesday prayer service we had it was beautiful we have the turkey bowl for 8th graders made a lot of Pies for for those in need and then we got into the winter months the Christmas pageant which was incredible and then we had Catholic school week where we were so busy and had so many activities and the Rube Goldberg competition and we just had how many wonderful wonderful memories then we moved into March March started out okay but somewhere in the middle of March we ended up being home I only thought it was going to for a short time interrupting the rest of the year you know what boys and girls I was so upset because I was concerned that we were going to have all of those activities that were such a part of the spring at Academy of our Lady guess I didn't realize that had any of our ladies students are as tough as tough can be we all. gather got up first ourselves off and we moved on so those special moments like the living Stations of the Cross we recreated and the May crowning which was just so incredibly beautiful we recreated and of course who could forget Peter Pan that was amazing all of those things that we did let us to the end of the school year and the kindergarten graduation we ended up doing that didn't we and the 8th grade graduation and I have to tell you our 8th graders graduated without the normal Traditions but they did with Grace and I am so touched by the students of Academy of our Lady you taught me many things this year boys and girls you taught me resilience stand up and brush myself off you told me about patience you taught me about love you taught me about acceptance you taught me about welcome I could not have gotten through this year without all of you so we are going to move on we're going to have a great summer I wish you many many wonderful days of summer where you are relaxing where you are enjoying yourself or you were playing with friends and family maybe you'll be able to get away I will be here if you need me all you need to do is email being dory's and girls and I will always be here for you I hope to see some of you over the summer or have some church perhaps around the campus I want you to know that you are part of my heart I love you all very very much I want you to stay safe and stay well and I will see you on September play boys and girls good day everybody will be getting all masses it's closing mass for the season the academy for the year name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit the grace and peace of God our Father in Heaven the love of Jesus our lord and our savior and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you and with your spirit As We Gather today I always begin by asking God to forgive us for the times that we don't act as we should are the times that we do not pay attention to you and Friday God we pray Lord have mercy for the times that we do not consider one another we prayed Christ have mercy the times that we could to ourselves we pray Lord have mercy have mercy me almighty God have mercy on us all forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life let us pray oh God the father of a good gift we confess all that we have and all that we are which comes from you and we today recognize the efforts of Your Balanced care and above all that we want to please you Cynthia heart and with all our strength we rely on you as we give thanks for this year at the Academy to our lord Jesus the son who lives and reigns with you in the spirit as one God forever never a reading from the book of sirach like a fire there. everybody out there is doing okay and and staying safe and getting ready for the summer to go to its full glory and serviceable strength time this year for everybody but other people working going to school whatever it is ever I've been changed and thank we thank you for all your cooperation for working with your teachers of virtually so that we can continue to learn and to grow but probably the most important thing for because we're not just any school but we are the Academy at a Catholic School school in which we not only can speak of God but that we focus on God and you know summertime if this was a normal year we kind of look forward to getting away from the routine and we go and we have a lot of fun some people go to Camp some people go away with their family but if it's you know it's a wonderful time of the year warm and sunny and the one thing that can always happen to us if we're not careful is we can then getting out of the routine of Our Lives we cannot maybe always remember that God is right there with us whether we're in school weather out of school and so this mask helps remind us of that we call it we doing today what's called a mass of Thanksgiving and we thankful for so many many things we still we could start with family with friends your parents but we're thankful today in a special way for the academy for a mrs. with all the teachers the staff you know and for you know this the classmates that you have that I'm sure you missed that's probably the hardest thing about the coronavirus is that we're parked my everybody and we want to be with each other that's the way God made today and so one of the things we always have to remember not only this summer but every summer and every time is that we we need to continue to pray we need to continue to say hello Snoop Dogg even as we might say hello to other people that mean a lot to us and so Jesus always encourage his Apostles to pray heat your crazy father pray to him as someone who loves you as someone who cares about you we give it and this gospel the fall of oatmeal just read the the perfect prayer the prayer that the fourth who was by Jesus himself and the thing about prayer is that it's not so much that God needs it as much as we need to do it we need to be reminded how about how God is right there and every day our lives in every part of our lives and so there's a lot of things going on as we move from this summer into the fall and the seventh grade, seventh grade is will become the the eighth grade in the leaders on campus the leaders of the of the Sioux and we look forward to that we look forward to your taking the leadership being the other children to show them the way so on so forth It's a special year for the second grade who didn't get to receive communion like you would have by now but you will be doing doesn't later it'll be in the beginning of when we get back I'm sure note it yet but it's going to get closer and for everybody who's moving up a grade we grow we learn more we in a we give thanks to our teachers one of the things that I've always aware of it as said this recently and I and another talk is that the teachers that I had in elementary school I still remember each and every one of them some more than others but they had a big impact on my life and don't always realize it right away but with thankful today for our dedicated devoted faculty who also had to change gears and get ready for the virtual learning that was taken place these last so we have lots and lots of reasons to give thanks a lots of reasons to be thankful to all God remember our God and if you get hurt if you heard the end of the reading Jesus and Facebook same for us praying is a very very important beginning but then the other part of that is even as we pray it's up to us to try to live the prayer to try to live when we Jesus teaches us and so he focuses on one of the Praises of the Our Father forgive us our trespasses which is the things we might do wrong as we forgive those who trespass against us sometimes we hurt each other or whatever and we need to have forgiveness and love in our hearts you we can talk about the different aspects of our religion about the Bible about the sacraments about the things that you learn in your various grades but it really comes down to love it comes down to forgiveness it comes out the understanding that's what God gives and that's what God asked us to give to one another so we are wish you well and we hope that you have a great great summer and to remember to pray remember those our fathers and even just to synagogue depending on on how old you are play just talk to God Like You Do any friend and let God know what's going on and how you feeling and also to his things that you need help with to be able to ask God for that so we thank God for today and we thank Jesus the gift of the sprayer and he use the score in the all father really compare to you know whatever he could have gone on and on nobody says God doesn't need lots and lots and lots of words he just needs all part and so uses the perfect prayer and we pray that many many times over the next couple months and we look forward to the return to school in the fall and hopefully time is that a more normal than they've been over the last couple months and we know that we're in this together if we work together and the academy will be strong as ever because of you your family is your parents and again we thank you for being part of our family and we're happy to be part of your family as well father on wanted me to mention that you know he was he had a lot of commitments today at the power so he could not be here for this mess but he certainly wants to pass on his good wishes and his Thanksgiving along with ours so we have got the blood test blood for summer live and help us to love as God. so as we continue this mess we ask God to hear our prayers and I'll petition let us pray for the church that all people who follow Jesus will grow in love for the truth of his gospel an honor one another as members of his body we pray to the Lord let us pray for the world that's a holy call a new and Powerful ways upon the heart of everyone we pray to the Lord let us pray for those who suffer in our families our communities and in our for their comfort and for our generosity. put them in their needs we praise to the Lord let us pray for a pre teachers staff and her family all who has helped us learn and grow in the light faith that God will bless them abundantly for their kindness friendship and work for us this year we pray for the Lord let us pray and Thanksgiving for the gifts of faith Friendship Learning pray and love at Academy of our Lady this year we pray to the Lord let us pray for students and staff can you places in the coming year and Thanksgiving for all they have given us and for God's blessings on them wherever they go we pray to the Lord let us pray for God's blessing this Summer that God will give all of us a safe happy and restful summer we pray to the Lord loving God will know that you always hear us as we pray to you Grandy's prayers as you know best help us to live by your gospel everything that you teaches and to praise you always through Christ Our Lord blessed the Lord the God of all creation through goodness we've received the spread that we offer to you the fruit of the Earth the work of human hands will become for us the bread of life to be God forever blessed of you Lord the God of all creation through your goodness we've received the swine that we offer to you the fruit of the vine the work of human hands will become our spiritual drink forever my friends pray that my sacrifice and yours may be found acceptable bygone who is our Almighty father may the Lord accept the long for you in my soul since I cannot now receive your new sacramentally come at least usually at the what has so you have already come I embrace you and your night myself entirely to you never love these kids so well boys and girls you also wish you a wonderful summer I know that you had a lot of difficult experiences these last several weeks but pass the difficulties the hardships all the wonderful experiences you've had with each other weather here in school or even remotely or virtually you are in my prayers and my heart the same way you aren't other times and and Monsieur on since is a Sal's and all you teachers and we look forward to seeing you again in the fall in school but even over to Summer hopefully our cross our paths will also cross so God bless you and remember to be filled with joy filled with hope every day thank you for the bogey and you know what he said is so true it's like the last few months have been challenging to us but they're not who we are you know and so we give thanks to for all the times that we had with each other live with your friendships with your classmates with your teachers The Cove is virus cannot take that away from us and it will not Kaweah are on Mission and our goal as a Catholic School to imitate Jesus Christ in our lives so we thank God for you and we pray for you over the summer let us pray you have given us the spiritual food the savings. One of your son Jesus Christ which we have office you today and Thanksgiving grand theft and strengthened but I guess your courage and joy we may serve you all the days of our life through Christ Our Lord and the Lord be with you and may God bless us to the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit 4th and peace.
