Hello and welcome! For those of you who may not know, my name is Katharine Clemente. Prior to being appointed Interim Principal of Academy of Our Lady, I had been teaching here for seven years and working for a total of eleven years as a teacher within the Archdiocese of Newark. It is a privilege to have been appointed Interim Principal and I look forward to continuing the mission of our school and spreading the teachings of Jesus Christ.
I firmly believe that quality education is a partnership. The old adage, “It takes a village a to raise a child” is so keenly accurate, and perhaps even truer in this day and age and even more specifically relevant to our students when we include the Church in their “village”. Teachers, administration, priests, other students, and other parents are all part of our students’ village when they attend Academy of Our Lady. It is our hope that each person your child encounters is a reflection of Jesus’s love and that each child is in turn, encouraged to reflect that love to others. In a society where children are often bombarded with images and ideas that can frighten, confuse, and disillusion them, Academy of Our Lady offers a safe haven for children to grow and learn and discover God’s plan for them. I know I speak for all of the faculty and staff of Academy of Our Lady when I say we take our vocation of guiding our students very seriously and we know we are blessed to be part of your child’s village.
