Policies of the Academy of Our Lady
Tuition Reduction Incentive Program

1. The Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (“T.R.I.P.) program will run weekly, except in summer. Current calendars of the T.R.I.P. order and pickup dates are available in the school office (see Schedule I attached). A summer schedule will be published. Any questions about T.R.I.P. should be directed to the T.R.I.P. coordinator Jeanne Vicari (at 201-670-9769 or send a note).

2. A registration form and a $10 administrative fee must be submitted annually with the first order.   As 100% of the discount will reduce your tuition, the administrative fee is intended to defray TRIP program expenses (for example shipping and handling charges, photocopying charges, etc.)

3. The 'account' number on your order form is the same as your already assigned AOL family number (see your tuition coupons). Family or friends may help you with your tuition reduction by ordering certificates on your form and Family Number, or by registering for their own number with the earnings directed to your family. All certificate orders for your number must be in one envelope, and all checks in the envelope must be made payable to Academy of Our Lady - TRIP. These checks are non-tax deductible because you receive dollar for dollar value. The back of your checks will be stamped T.R.I.P. Non-Tax Deductible.

4. The percentage earned on each participating family's order form and number will be held in a TRIP bank account and credited against your tuition payments due on October 15 and April 15. A statement of your purchases and percentage earned will be forwarded to you shortly before these dates. Any discrepancies must be brought to the attention of the T.R.I.P. Coordinator within 30 days of the statement date.

5. T.R.I.P. is being offered to promote the education of students at Academy of Our Lady ; therefore, the money collected on your Family Number will only be paid to Academy of Our Lady for tuition reduction. If your child(ren) no longer will attend Academy of Our Lady for whatever reason, the monies held under your Family Number can be:

a.) Credited to your outstanding tuition balance
b.) Credited to another family's tuition
c.) Credited to the Tuition Assistance Program
d.) Credited to the Academy of Our Lady Annual Appeal

if written notice is received within 60 days of the time the child(ren) leave the school. Otherwise it will be transferred to the Academy of Our Lady account.

6.  If a Disclaimer of Responsibility (part of the annual registration statement) has been signed, certificate orders will be distributed via the Wednesday family envelope (if you only have children in Pre K, distribution will be via the teacher).  If a Disclaimer of Responsibility is not signed, certificate orders are to be picked up by parents only.  This disclaimer must be executed for each school year before certificates will be released to your child via the Wednesday family envelope. These forms will be kept on file. Your child will only receive the envelope with certificates ordered under your Family Number.

7. All completed certificate order envelopes are due by Thursday at 8:30 a.m. to the school office. Late orders will be processed the following week. Filled orders to be picked up will be available on Wednesday from 8:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. or thereafter during regular office hours. Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the school year.   Note specific dates & times for the special summer orders in Schedule I.  If a child is designated to bring certificates home, it will be included in the Wednesday family envelope.

8.  The TRIP coordinator reserves the right to:

a.) return an order if the enclosed payment is insufficient

b.) change any incorrect dollar amount increments or issue a credit slip.

c.) hold an order if all orders received are insufficient to cover the shipping charges.

9. These gift certificates are just like cash. Neither Academy of Our Lady nor the TRIP coordinator and volunteers are responsible for lost or misplaced certificates.

10. Anyone writing a check with insufficient funds (“N.S.F.”), will incur a fee of $25.00 to be paid to Academy of Our Lady .  After two N.S.F. checks are tendered on your T.R.I.P. account, only money orders or cashiers checks will be accepted on your account. No further personal checks will be accepted for purchase of certificates.

Notes to the Academy of Our Lady
Tuition Reduction Incentive Program

1.  The Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (T.R.I.P.) being offered by Academy of Our Lady uses the services of certificate broker organizations. These organizations purchase gift and merchandise certificates in large quantities at a discount from major food and retail chains. As a school organization, we are able to buy these certificates at the discount but in smaller quantities to sell at face value, thereby raising funds for families of our school. Your 'rebate' ranges from 1.5 to 14 percent of the certificate value. 'Rebate' percentages are subject to change without notice.

Participating certificate merchants and the applicable discount are noted on the order form. See http://www.glscrip.com/ for a complete list of retailers and merchants, discounts and conditions, if any.

 2.  The certificates can be used, for the most part, just like cash or a check at the participating stores. Certificates have an expiration date varying from six months to two years. Some stores limit the amount of cash change that can be returned from a certificate purchase (see individual certificates). Do not expect any cash change unless it is explicitly stated so on the certificate.

 3.  Charge accounts at some stores can be paid with certificates. You must pay the account in person at a local store, since the certificates are considered equivalent to cash, and cannot be mailed.

 4. Friends of AOL may participate in this program by purchasing certificates. Their proceeds may be credited to the tuition of a particular family for that school year or may be directed to the Tuition Assistance Program or the Academy of Our Lady Annual Appeal .

 5. Parents looking to the future and planning for the Catholic Education of their young children at Academy of Our Lady can also participate. These families will be assigned an 'account' number, the monies earned will be held in the Academy of Our Lady TRIP account, and will be credited as a tuition payment when their child is enrolled in AOL (see policies, #4).
