Thank you to Mrs. Neuman and Mrs. Kranenburg who helped in the library this summer and to all who volunteered to help this school year. We will have a short get together sometime soon to discuss volunteer opportunities.

Summer Reading
Thank you to the students and parents who visited me when I participated in the Great Storytellers of Glen Rock at the Glen Rock Public Library on July 29. I read Anansi and the Tug o' War by Bobby and Sherry Norfolk. To have the book read to you, visit www.storycove.com
I hope you are enjoying many books this summer. Remember students in grades 2-6 one of your books should be related to the Olympics in some way. It can be a biography of an athlete, a history of the Olympics, a sports book (fiction or non-fiction) or even a travel book about one of the countries participating in the Olympics. This book does not have to be the one you choose to give the Gold Medal to. The Gold Medal book is the book you liked the best, the one you would most likely recommend to a friend. See the bulletin board in the hall near the library for my favorite book this summer!

Students in Kindergarten through eighth grade have one period a week of library. The Library/Media Center is staffed with a librarian and paraprofessionals. The extensive collection, more than 10,000 books and tapes, is maintained on the Athena automated library system. Sponsorship of an annual book fair further promotes literacy and a lifelong love of reading.
