Art Curriculum
The art curriculum teaches the elements of design in all grades. Those elements include the study of line, color, texture, shape, form, value and space. Each year builds upon students' prior knowledge and lessons are planned to meet the appropriate developmental needs of each grade level. The following outline gives a list of objectives along with activities/projects that are taught at various grade levels.
Fine motor skills including cutting, pasting, drawing and tracing.

Mrs. Barbara also works with the art docents involved with TIC TOC (To Introduce Culture to Our Children). Her students often win local competitions. She has an active Art Club for students in Grades 4-8.
A new program has been added for interested students during the summer months. Explorations in Art leads students in a discovery of different artistic media. It is available to students in 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grades. Flyers detailing the dates and fees will be available in May.
