SEPTEMBER: Give Drink to the Thirsty

We wore Red, White, and Blue for our school wide Color Day for $0.50 and donated $10.30 to our deployed servicemen

We participated in the school's "Remembrance Day Prayer Service" to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the September 11th attack

We completed a citizenship quiz prior to participating in the Brain Pop Jr.'s lesson on "rights and responsibilities" 

bullet

We identified the communities we belong to, and the services we do within each, and concluded the lesson with "A Citizenship Interview"

We listened to the story entitled A River Ran Wild by L. Cherry

bullet

Using the Brain Pop site, we learned how a river becomes polluted

bullet

Then we discussed the uses of water and how we can conserve and protect our water

bullet

Using water drop patterns, we documented our thoughts and ideas

These were displayed for Back to School Night

The children and I initiated a school wide blue color day for Tuesday, Sept. 23

The monies collected, a $1.00 per student, went to the NCEA drive to assist the people of Texas after Hurricane Ike
