Ms.
Schiller is a graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas College, Sparkill, NY and holds a
B.S. degree in Education and Psychology. She
has been teaching for many years and 30 have been in elementary education in the
Archdiocese of Newark.
When
Ms. Schiller is not spending free time with family and close friends you would
most likely find her leading a local mission group called “Gifts of
Love” (members knit and crochet for the Rockland County Family Shelter).
She also enjoys teaching her students how to knit and crochet and claims,
“It develops fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, concentration and
pride”.
“Teaching
has always been a pleasure and each new group of youngsters keeps me young at
heart.” Ms. Schiller believes
learning should be fun and aims to guide her students to be independent
thinkers, readers and writers. Her
classroom environment is relaxed but students are well aware of the expectations
and requirements. Students are
always encouraged to “strive to do their best”.
Each day our goal is to model Jesus in our words and actions as we relate
to one another and the world around us. “New
beginnings are exciting and I’m looking forward to the school year ahead,
making new friends and doing what I enjoy, teaching your children.”
