Homework Pad

Beginning in September, the students will be copying their homework into a homework pad from our classroom homework chart.  Please read and sign the pad each school night.  The students homework and important notes will be listed in the pad.  Announcement made in school about special events, color days, raffles, etc. will be added onto the list as well.

Extra Homework

Extra Homework is optional.  Students have the opportunity to complete extra homework to receive a N.U.T. card (No Uniform Today).  There is an Extra Homework chart up in the classroom with each students name listed.  When a student brings in extra homework, I check off a box.  When all their boxes are filled, I will give them a N.U.T. card.  I provide worksheets in class for the students to choose from that are related to what we are currently learning.  Also, there are websites with printable pages under the links or science tab on this website.  If your child works on a book at home, you may rip out the pages and send them in as well.  Any special projects or reports will earn two marks.

No Homework

If a student does not bring in his or her homework three or more times a month, he or she must go to Mrs. Keenaghan's office and sign the "no homework" book.  Homework is important.  The children know they must bring home their work and bring it back the next day.  Please check their homework folder daily.  Remove corrected or completed work and  any notes to keep at home.  The less papers in the folder, the easier it is for your child to know where their work is.

Test Folder

Every other week, after tests have been taken in school, a test folder will be sent home.  Please sign and date the sheet inside to show that you have seen the tests.  Please review the tests with your child and keep them at home.  Send the signed test folder back to school with your child the following day.

Reading Log

Reading is very important.  Students should read every school night and fill in the reading log (if your child reads over the weekend, please include the information on the back).  Reading logs are mandatory and are due every Monday.  If you need an extra Reading Log, please click the link below.
