When does my child celebrate his/her birthday in school?

If the above dates do not match your child’s actual birthday it is because of mass, weekends, breaks, or other holidays. Please inform me if the date chosen presents a problem.

On your child’s school birthday, he or she may use a N.U.T. card (No Uniform Today) provided by the teacher and bring a treat in to share with the class (no nuts please!). There are 16 students this year. If there are any leftover treats, he or she may bring the extras around to other teachers.

If your child is having a birthday party outside of school, he or she may bring invitations to pass out in class only if all students are invited, or all boys/girls are invited.

When is my child Friend of the Week?

Friend of the Week has begun.  The schedule and description of each day follows below. If you have any questions, please let me know before your child’s week. Thank you!

Mondays The Friend of the Week will bring in pictures of him/herself (with family, on vacation, etc.) along with a completed Friend of the Week form that will be shared with the class (provided by the teacher).

Tuesdays and Thursdays The Friend on the Week will bring in a book that I will read to the class. Your child may read the book if he/she feels comfortable reading in front of the class. The books should not be too long.

Wednesdays The Friend of the Week may bring in something special to share with the class (something he/she made, pictures, trophy, etc.). The item should not be too big or delicate.

Fridays The Friend of the Week may bring in or pick from a selection of DVDs. The DVD should be rated G and should be appropriate for school and all ages. We will not have time to watch a whole movie, so a DVD that has episodes on it would be great.

   What if my child is going home a different way?

 

If your child is not going home in his or her usual way, please send a note in with your child.

 

                                       

 

Not taking the bus... The office needs to know; I will forward the note.

 

Going home with a friend... Please send me a note.

 

Aftercare... Ms.  Romeo needs to know; I will forward the note.
