Highlights of Grade 3C

In grade 3C, we are very busy growing spiritually, academically, and socially.  We're reminded daily to respect all forms of life:  Human, Animal, and Plant.  God created all living things with love, and we, in turn; need to treat them with the same loving care!
Academically, basic math facts are being mastered, while estimating four-digit numbers is becoming easier all the time.  Reading the diverse literary selections in our third grade anthology, in addition to; our personal book choices, is lots of fun!  Our grammar, spelling, and creative writing skills are developing through original sentence, paragraph, and poetry writing.  We're trying hard to remember that we need to double the letter "p" in hop before adding -ing, or we will end up spelling an entirely different word:  hoping.  Our Science lessons lead us from ecosystems, to communities, to populations, to habitats; to discover how all living things interact with one another...and so much more!  Combining different strokes to form cursive letters, step-by-step, is preparing us for full-time cursive writing later in third grade.  Technology is adding a new dimension to classroom learning through the use of the interactive "Smartboard" and our document camera, "Elmo".
We're busy each day, and we are definitely making terrific progress in all areas of learning...and enjoying ourselves, too!
